How I met my adopted officer “My son applied with local liquor authorities to participate in their
enforcement program. When he was hired I learned that the officer I’d adopted
and had been praying for would be his new supervisor. It’s amazing what God will
do to bring his children together.” Kelly had applied to work with the
liquor board because of an assembly he went to at school. He applied in the fall
of 2002, but wasn't called until the Spring of 2004. The office called to ask
him to work and we talked for about 5 minutes as she explained the program and
what my son would be doing. When I first picked an officer to pray for,
I picked a woman who was dealing with breast cancer. I choose her because I too
am a breast cancer survivor. I've been 5 years cancer free. As I have prayed for
my officer and I always use her first name. I actually had forgotten her last
name, so when she called and identified herself as Officer McNitch I did not
immediately recognize her. Later that day I told my son about the call, and as I
said her name, it clicked in my mind. I almost screamed, "She's the officer I
pray for everyday". My son was a little shocked at my excitement. I got on the
phone right away. I had to call Jessie Joy or Jackie or Dave or someone and tell
them how awesome God was to let me meet my officer. Later that week I did get to
talk with Jessie Joy. We talked for almost 30 minutes and God is truly good. We
have emailed each other. She knows that I am praying for her. She has even asked
for me to pray about special things for her. I never thought something this
special could happen. Thank you God for once again showing me how you care about
every area of our lives. Katie Bachand | |
