BIOGRAPHY
My name is Janet Hughlett. My husband John and I have been married for 27 years. We have 5 grown children and 8 grandchildren. John is very supportive of the Adopt-a-Cop Ministry.
I heard about Adopt-A-Cop at a prayer conference John and I attended. We had a number of police officers who attended our church and I knew this was something we needed to do for them. I returned home and started Adopt-A-Cop at my church - Faith Assembly Christian Center in Pasco, Washington in 1995. We've grown from 23 adopted officers to more than 146 officers from Franklin County Sheriff's Department, Pasco Police Department, Washington State Patrol, Kennewick Police Department, Benton County Sheriff's Department, Hanford Patrol, Pasco Airport Police and Coyote Ridge Corrections Facility.
My friends call me "The Serial Cop Hugger" because I pull cops over to give them hugs and introduce myself to them. I just love my cops!
God has answered many prayers for our officers. This is a tremendous ministry to the community and I believe with all my heart that we can love these precious officers into the Kingdom of God!
